Ok ive been thinking and decided to try and turn REO2 into a arcade game. I have been reading the 'XBLA: How to' and heres the basic breakdown of it.
The XBLA team breaks down the process in 10 steps. If you're serious about making a game, here are the steps you'll need to follow to make it big, or…small.
1. Contact the Arcade team with your game concept.
2. If the Arcade team is interested in your game idea, they will contact you.
3. Fill out the proper paperwork with Microsoft to get you going.
4. Formally submit your game concept. Include as much information as possible, including design documents, concept art, screen shot mock-ups and/or prototypes if available.
5. If your concept makes it through the initial screening, it goes to the Arcade portfolio review committee for discussion and evaluation.
6. After evaluating the title (and possibly researching the developer if they are unknown), the game concept gets a thumbs up or thumbs down.
7. Once approved, you get access to all the developer tools and documentation that you need to develop an Arcade game. You also get access to buy Xbox development kits.
8. Develop your Arcade title. You pay for development (it's your game after all!). In many cases the Arcade team assigns a producer to work with you, and they provide design help, assistance with Gamerscore and achievements, and work with you on schedules. Your title needs to hit certain milestones to show regular progress.
9. Once your title is near complete, it goes through a full -*test*-('") pass (again, you pay for -*test*-('")ing). The developer is responsible for acquiring ratings and for localizing the title into other languages. The title is debugged and verified, then the game goes through the regular Xbox 360 certification process and must pass before it can be digitally signed.
10. Your title goes Live on the service! Each time someone buys the game on XBLA, the developer gets a healthy share of the revenue.
REO2 v.2 Beta seems stable so I will be temporarily away for a while trying to come up with new concepts for this new REO2 game.. heh it might not even be named REO2 seeing how its a copyright based game so looks like ill have to come up with a new name and what not so... wish emmy luck aye? =]

Goog Luck and WAIITT what about playstaion 3 guys to lol
yeah DE, you'll have to change the names of anything from the copyrighted game, like T-virus, Chis redfeild, Hunters/Likers, etc. and of coruse the name, ive got a friend or two somwhere who know about this type of stuff(copyright laws and junk), i'll see if i can ask them.
also im fiarly good at concepting if you need help making up a somwhat storyline to go along with the new naems you'll have to come up with for everything...
if you plan on doing any localization for other countrys,
i have a freind who traslates mandarin(old chineese) into english and vise versa, but im not sure how much he charges or even if he has the time for this, then again, if you really do plan on localizing it for other countrys theres not that much text to change just find someone who knows a bit of on language to make sure the grammar order is correct, i can help with german, and theres plenty of people who know spanish...maybe the voice of the cpu gaurds would be tough but thats not really neccesary...
also, do you intend to get this on xbox or somthing?
Alternatively if your serious about this you could talk to a company rep.
The basic idea here would be to present the general payoff to Capcom for allowing your game to pass through without copyright curtailment.
Mentioning the number of players currently, and a "Estimated" figure on how player-numbers would be reduced if the title where changed, might help. Also lets not forget the potential marketing aspect; as any large game developer knows, "Fan-based" games that are fun have a natural tendency to grow...virally.
So it may or may not be necessary to change all the titles/characters/monsters etc, etc.
Why not try it?e. After all, what have you got to lose? If Capcom sends a "cease and desist letter" (which is required by law in several instances), then You can always go with plan 'b'....
Wish you luck Dark Emerald!

wow, nice job guys, arcade..
playstation 3 people will miss out TT_TT
lmfao
yea i think it should be on wii and ps3 not xbox
knowing them it break like in 10 days so hardly anyone wil be one =P
still good luck
Thats right, u cant have the game only on 1 console, half the people that play byond REO 2 will completly miss out. And im not buying an xbox 360 just to play it.
If u want good ratings and a bigger fanbase, then u have to put it on other consoles.
It being on one console would be its biggest weakness, as only a number of people know about REO 2 and not the whole world.
DE... Good luck nontherless.
Laterz.
btw i wonder what happen to REO3D o.0
